The Retirement Commissioner has monitoring, information and education functions relating to retirement villages legislation, which also includes administering the disputes process. From 1 April 2015, the Commission has brought back in-house the information and education functions previously delegated to the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment so that the Commission can communicate directly with stakeholders in this area.
