Inquiry Banner 730px x 216px-greenThe Productivity Commission has published the draft report on social services and is looking for feedback on it by 24th June before it makes its final report. There are a large number of recommendations in the report about how government should go about “purchasing” the social services that are needed to achieve greater well being for families, whānau and communities.

NZCCSS was one of many in the sector that made submissions to the inquiry (read our submission) and we will be looking closely at the draft report to see what conclusions it has drawn. Already Peter Glensor, the General Manager of community sector umbrella group Hui E, has said that competition is not the answer to better social services.

Go to the Productivity Commission website to find out how to make a submission (due 24th June 2015).
