Alzheimers NZ is launching a new event series in 2023 – Repositioning Dementia: A new start, replacing its biennial conference.

Hosted both online and in person, the series will focus on the Dementia Mate Wareware Action Plan, human rights and the lived experience of dementia mate wareware and research. Speakers will include:

  • Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand
  • Co-Chairs of the Dementia Mate Wareware Leadership and AdvisoryGroup
  • Dr Makarena Dudley and Dr Kathy Peri, of University of Auckland, on the Māori adaptation of Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST)
  • Anne Schumacher, Dementia Wellington
  • Brigid Ryan, University of Auckland
  • Researchers and more

The first event in the series of four is planned for Thursday 23 March 2023.
