More great ideas from the Salvation Army with the launch of its new partnership with Lucid and Countown on the Foodbank Project.

The Salvation Army is thrilled to partner with Lucid and Countdown on The Foodbank Project.

Last year, The Salvation Army distributed 55,425 food parcels to New Zealanders in need from our network of more than 60 foodbanks. We couldn’t provide this food assistance without considerable support from individuals and businesses around the country.

The donations we receive from generous individuals and families through The Foodbank Project, together with the food donations we receive from businesses and other organisations, make a vital contribution to maintaining our food supplies in our foodbanks. Without this support, our shelves would be severely depleted making it very challenging for us to provide the food parcels that so many individuals and families need.

While we are very grateful for the food donations which come to us from the public (through Countdown’s wonderful Food Rescue programme) and food retailers and manufacturers (through direct donations), we are very excited about the additional food donations we will gain on a regular basis through The Foodbank Project as well as the opportunity to highlight and receive the items we most urgently need.

From the whole team at The Salvation Army, thank you to everyone who supports our foodbanks. We couldn’t do what we do without your valuable donations.
